Regime change

When I graduated from college some 12 years ago, I was probably in the best physical shape of my life. I was a lean 195lbs on a 6' frame, I could b-ball for hours or go for a long bike ride without breaking a sweat. However, I was probably in the worst spiritual condition of my life. Sparing you the details, it was not pretty inside my heart and mind.

Jump to the present, I am now in a pretty good spot spiritually. I have a meaningful relationship with Jesus, a loving wife and three great kids however I am now a attractively husky (as my wife calls) 285lbs on the same 6' frame.

It struck me recently how before, my life was ruled by sports and beer and fun and I looked great and now my life is ruled by a relentless pursuit of Jesus and instead of looking great I am feeling great if you dont count the creaky back, sore muscles and kangaroo pouch I now have. I do not believe that this is what God intended for his creation.

Therefore, I have been trying to live a more active life while still pursuing after God's truth. The result after several weeks of early morning workout sessions and far fewer potato chips are still unclear but I hope I can continue down the path to not just feeling good spiritually but feeling good physically as well. I will keep you posted.

Now back to my morning biscuit and cup of coffee ... er ... I mean glass of water, yeah thats right water.

Did you say early morning work out sessions? This challenge isn't going to creep its way through to the rest of us is it...?

Saturday nights can be a little contagious I've noticed.

TV is one thing but keep the excersise thoughts to yourself would ya!!
